The Story of the Board
In my quest to fulfill the distinctive wood requirements of our clients, I ventured into the exploration of local wood sources. By establishing a partnership with the perfect supplier, I now have the opportunity to introduce this exceptional rarity to your home.
Our boards are meticulously crafted from spalted maple wood, carefully selected from the rural regions of Western Pennsylvania.
Spalted maple is rare and difficult to find. Experts liken it to being “as tough as finding truffles in the forest.” It is nature at its best: the black wavy streaks are caused by the natural decay of the wood and must be captured at the right moment to use for woodworking.
This wood is thoughtfully sourced with the intention of transforming it into exquisite, multi-functional additions to your home. I began using the spalted maple exclusively for large custom tables, and I wanted to bring this beautiful wood to you on a smaller scale.
Our artisan, handmade, one-of-a-kind boards allow you to have these unique pieces in your home as a great conversation piece or an unforgettable gift.
